Yes, there is a method to our madness. In the processing areas of each store, you will find that storing items has been separated by department. Clothing should be stored with other articles of clothing, household goods (otherwise referred to as bric-a-brac) will be placed on shelf space for bric-a-brac items. This enables our production teams to focus on evaluating items and selecting prices rather than having to move items around. Efficiency and organization are key when it comes to production. Another useful tip is to scan donations for items that we are unable to sell at the store. Items like children’s cribs, car seats, medical equipment, or hazardous materials should be removed and disposed of properly. Again, this is to relieve some of the work on production, there are usually 1-2 team members in production so any extra set of hands or eyes that can be laid on donations can and should, we’re all about making others’ lives easier.
